The fresher students along with the existing students, faculty, and staff actively participated in the program. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, deans from the School of Design, School of Engineering, School of Management, Student Life, and NSS volunteers also planted saplings in the University premises. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Nitin Rane explained the importance of tree plantation. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rane said, “We all know that the whole world is facing the problem of global warming and to recover from such problem planting the trees is become one of the most important aspects today.” He also added – “A new student from any program (Design, Engineering, or Management) coming to the campus will plant a sapling and take care of it for their entire program duration. And then when they are an alumnus, they will be happy to see the growth of the sapling they planted to grow into a tree.”
