Avantika University Celebrates Its 4th Convocation Ceremony

MIT Pune Campus in Ujjain, Avantika University celebrated its 4th Convocation Ceremony, Samahvan 2025 on February 8th honoring the dreams, struggles, and strength of its students who graduated with flying colors. A total 171 graduands were conferred degrees, with 10 receiving gold medals and 7 receiving silver medals. The ceremony commenced with the academic procession entering the Convocation Plaza, followed by, the honourable Chancellor of Avantika University Padma Shri Dr. Sanjay Dhande, formally declaring the ceremony open. In his welcome address, Dr. Dhande congratulated the graduands and wished them success in both their professional and personal lives. He encouraged them to carve their own paths while always cherishing their alma mater. The Chief Guest for Samahvan 2025 were Dr. G. D. Yadav (Padma Shri Awardee, Govt. of India), National Science Chair, Bhatnagar Fellow, and Former Vice-Chancellor of the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Joined by Special Guests Shri Narendra Ghate, Senior Vice President & Head of Design at HDFC Bank Ltd., and Shri Subbaraman Balasubramanyan, Senior Vice President at HCL Technologies Ltd., adding to the occasion's prestige. Vice Chancellor Dr. Nitin Rane expressed his gratitude to the parents for entrusting Avantika University with the responsibility of shaping their children's futures. He then highlighted the university's pioneering achievements over the past seven years. Emphasizing that the graduands are future leaders, he extended his best wishes for their success. The chief guests shared insights from their illustrious careers, advising students to embrace continuous learning rather than confining themselves to a single skill. Following this, the graduands took the Convocation oath, led by the Honorable Chancellor, after which medals and degrees were awarded to the students.

Avantika University Hosts Alumni Meet, Abhyudaya

Avantika University organized Abhyudaya, an alumni meet that brought together students and graduates from previous batches to reconnect, network, and celebrate their shared journey. The event commenced with the MIT Peace Prayer, followed by a warm welcome address from the Honorable Chancellor of Avantika University, Dr. Nitin Rane. In his speech, Dr. Rane inspired the alumni by sharing relatable examples from everyday life. He referenced iconic figures like Picasso, as well as a memorable India vs. Australia cricket match, emphasizing that consistent practice and continuous learning are the ultimate keys to success. He extended his best wishes to the alumni for their future endeavors. The Registrar, Dr. Manesh Patil, expressed immense pride in the alumni, calling them Avantika University's greatest asset. He acknowledged them as true ambassadors carrying forward the Avantika's legacy and making the institution proud. Following this, Abhyudaya featured an insightful panel discussion with industry stalwarts Konark Ashara, Design Leader, Design & Experience Practice, UST; Kapil Joshi, Head of Experience Design Practice, Capgemini; Sandeep Pandey, HR Leader, Rakuten Symphony. Led by Dr. Sanjay Jain, the discussion revolved around the importance of understanding problems and creating effective solutions, spanning across all business domains. The guests highlighted that a designer's role is to simplify processes and enhance user experiences. They also noted a significant shift in learning approaches, from the traditional method of, studying first and then applying, to the modern approach of learning by doing. They encouraged the alumni to embrace experimentation as a means of growth and to stay aware of evolving industry trends, including AI, content creation, and legal aspects of design. The panel discussion concluded on an intellectually stimulating note, after which the alumni enjoyed cultural performances and celebrated their reunion with enthusiasm.

AAROH 2025 concludes

Avantika University's three-day grand fest, Aaroh 2025, concluded on February 6th, leaving behind a trail of excitement and unforgettable memories. Over the course of the event, students poured their hearts and energy into the variety of competitions and performances, making their mark with passion and enthusiasm. The fest featured an exciting, one of its kind blend of sports, culture, and technology, making it the true spectacle of talent and spirit. The winners of this exhilarating three-day celebration were honored on February 6th, marking a conclusion to the glamorous extravaganza.

Avantika University Celebrates the 76th Republic Day with Pride and Honor!

Avantika University - The MIT Pune Campus at Ujjain proudly celebrated the 76th Republic Day on campus with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event was graced by the esteemed chief guest, Hon. Col. Dr. Virendra Mishra, a distinguished military veteran, leader, and academician. Dr. Mishra hoisted the national flag and inspired the students by sharing invaluable insights from his life experiences. With expertise in strategic management, organizational behavior, and leadership, Dr. Mishra serves as a Visiting Faculty at IIM Ranchi, IPS Academy Indore, and the Army War College. Avantika University was also honored to welcome Lt. Gen. Jaswinder Singh Sandhu (Retd.), PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM, who shared his remarkable journey of being commissioned into the Gorkha Rifles in June 1980. Over his illustrious career, he has served along the Northern and Eastern frontiers, including deployments in the Siachen Glacier, the Line of Control in J&K, and the Northeast. Before his retirement, he held the prestigious position of Military Secretary. Currently, Lt. Gen. Sandhu is the Chief Editor of Medals and Ribbons, a quarterly defense magazine, and serves as the President of the Mhow Analysis and Research Society, a newly established think tank based in Mhow. The event was a grand celebration of patriotism and inspiration, honoring the nation's heroes. It also included the awarding of students who were winners of 'Athlos 2025,' the annual sports meet held at Avantika campus, by the guests of the day.

Avantika University Nominates Students as NEP SAARTHI Ambassadors to Promote NEP 2020

Avantika University is proud to announce the nomination of students for NEP SAARTHI, where they will serve as ambassadors to promote NEP 2020 and conduct awareness campaigns that drive various initiatives of NEP 2020 every semester in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Ms. Kasturi Pathak, a 2nd-year student from the BBA LLB program, School of Law and Public Policy; Ms. Aarya Tushar Thakare, a 2nd-year student from User Experience Design, School of Design; and Mr. Aradhy Modanwal, a 1st-year MBA student from the School of Management, have been nominated for this role. The students will be instrumental in planning activities and disseminating information regarding NEP 2020 among the staff and student community at Avantika, in coordination with Mr. Shailesh Bhokare, Manager of AIIC, and Dr. Priya Rao, Dean of External Relations.

The students and young minds eagerly welcomed the Chief Minister, drawing inspiration from his unmatched dedication and energy. The much-anticipated event commenced with a warm reception and student performances. Following an engaging series of panel discussions, Hon'ble Dr. Mohan Yadav Ji inaugurated the HCL Technologies Centre of Excellence at Avantika University. A significant academic collaboration with HCL Technologies. The inauguration was attended by Mr. Shailesh Awale, Centre Head and Associate Vice President of HCL Technologies, Nagpur; Mr. Swakshar Karmakar and Mr. Devendra Jaiswar from HCL Technologies, Dr. Nitin Rane, Vice Chancellor of Avantika University; and Dr. Manesh Patil, Registrar of Avantika University. Students win Smart India Hackathon 2024

Students from the School of Engineering at Avantika University, Satvik Rao, Riya Ranjan, Gaurav Ojha, Bhakti Dangri, Harshal Modi, and Garvin Pandya represented Team AKATSUKI_AU at the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, held in Bangalore from 11th to 15th December 2024. The students emerged victorious, bagging the first position at the prestigious event, organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE, Government of India. The team was awarded a cash prize of INR 1 Lakh for their unique approach to technology. The students worked on Problem Statement #1690 under the Ministry of Jal Shakti: "Use of Digital Knowledge Sharing Platforms (e.g., wikis) for Sharing Water-Efficient Techniques to Minimize Water Scarcity." Competing against 140 entries, their innovative solution for promoting water conservation through software development stood out, earning them a place in the top six teams at the finale. This remarkable achievement reflects the students’ dedication to creating impactful solutions for future challenges. Instilling a sense of responsibility towards society.

MIT ID Indore, Avantika University collaborates with Tvam Foundation, Pune to present students with an opportunity to experience diverse hands-on training, and industry-level projects on textiles. With Tvam Foundation students will experience a more refined research-oriented approach. Tvam Foundation, established in 2019 is committed to researching, celebrating, and educating the general public about the rich textile traditions of the Deccan, and its cultural narratives. This partnership will empower the students and faculties of Communication Design and Fashion Design in terms of research, documentation, designing of publications, exhibition design, and more.

Student project selected for International Film Festivals

Bhushan Agrawal, a talented student from the School of Design at Avantika University, has achieved a remarkable milestone with his capstone project, a captivating short film, “Pehchan”, garnering significant recognition, as it has been selected for screening at three highly prestigious film festivals, the 36th Girona Film Festival, Kinovertikal - The International Festival, and the Webseries & Film Festival. M.Des student becomes part of the Government's Fire Fighting truck design

Yadhukrishnan Nair, an MDes student from the 2020 batch, is part of a prestigious team working on the design of a full-size truck. These vehicles are set to be India's first trucks equipped with a European-spec firefighting system, as part of the Government of India's initiative to introduce fully automated trucks. What makes this project even more remarkable is that the prototype currently under development is entirely handcrafted and hand-assembled. This design brings innovative firefighting capabilities to Indian roads, merging advanced technology with safety. By integrating European standards into the design, these trucks will set a new benchmark for emergency response vehicles in India. Yadhukrishnan’s role in this project highlights the learnings acquired during his study at Avantika University.
