Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple
Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, shrines which are said to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the side of the holy river Shipra.
Chintaman Ganesh Temple
Chintaman Ganesh is the biggest temple of Lord Ganesha in Ujjain of Madhya Pradesh, India. This temple is built across the Kshipra river on the Fatehabad railway line, and is located about 7 km far south-westerly to the Ujjain town. The temple is located now in the middle of the town's market.
Harsiddhi Temple
This temple occupies a special place in the galaxy of ancient sacred spots of Ujjain. Seated between the idols of Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswati, the idol of Annapurna is painted in dark vermilion color. The Sri Yantra, the symbol of power or shakti, is also enshrined in the temple.
Vedh Shala
Jantar Mantar or Vedh Shala is located in the holy city of New Ujjain. It is an observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1725 which consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The observatory is one of the five observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II when he was governor of Ujjain.
Sandipani Ashram
Ancient Ujjain, apart from its political and religious importance, was a prestigious center of learning at the beginning of the Mahabharata period. Sandipani is regarded to have educated Lord Shri Krishna and Sudama regarding all the Vedas, the art of drawing, astronomy, gandharva veda, medicine, training elephants and horses, and archery. Maharishi Sandipani's ashram is situated on Mangalnath Road, Ujjain.
Mahakal Lok
Shri Mahakal Mahalok is a grand temple complex based around the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. The complex has been expanded from 2.87 hectares (7.1 acres) to 47 hectares (116 acres). It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and aims to create a grand and intense spiritual experience for the devotees. This project is being developed by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and will be completed in a phased manner by 2025. Sri Mahakal Mahalok consists of a grand array of 108 divine pillars, a massive gateway, painted frescoes of stories from the Shiva Purana all around the temple. The complex also houses a museum, which displays the life and mythology of Lord Shiva. Shri Mahakal Mahalok was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on October 11, 2022.
