Avantika University, the first design-centered university of India, is the gallant initiative of the MIT group of institutions Pune. MIT Institute of Design (MIT-ID) and Avantika University have been established, operated, and owned by the MIT Group. MIT is the first ever private engineering college in the state of Maharashtra started by Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad with the vision to bring a revolution in the engineering education of the state. From one institute, the umbrella of the MIT group has increased to 5 Universities and 80+ Institutes catering to over 50,000 students across primary, secondary, and tertiary education.
Avantika University is located near Chintaman Ganesh Temple in Lekoda village which is situated on the outskirts of Ujjain city. The campus is 30 minutes drive from the Nanakheda bus stand. The University is 58 km (36 miles) from the Indore Airport. There is a regular shuttle service provided from the University to Nanakheda square which can be availed by the students keeping their wardens in the loop. Avantika University is established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, through an Act of State Legislature, vide The Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan), Tritiya Sanshodhan Adhiniyam, 2016 (No. 5 of 2017) published in the "Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extraordinary)", dated 12th January 2017. Yes, the FabLab at Avantika is equipped with hi-tech machinery like Laser Cutting Machine, Milling Machine, Thermocol Cutting Machine, Vinyl Plotter, Router Machine, 3D Printers and other tools required for fabrication.
Our Academic building is equipped with access control which gives access to the various areas only to the Avantika ID Card holders and the same is used to control access of outsiders in the complex. Security personnel available at the main gate only allow visitors inside after referring to the department they want to visit and also are spread all around the campus to maintain security.
Bank of India mobile ATM van visits the campus ones every week and their banking personnel is available twice a week in the academic complex for all banking transactions.
Yes, Avantika University is a cashless campus. Students are supposed to download the Campus Wallet App (Available on Android and iOS) and use it to avail on campus services.
A tuck shop is available on campus for students to purchase both fresh and packaged food, and other general provisions.
