Ankit Desai is a photographer, designer and educator from Mumbai, India. He finds joy in using photography as a design tool in communication. He completed his Bachelor's degree (BFA) in Applied Art and Master's degree (MFA) specialization in photography from the prestigious Sir J J Institute of Applied Art. During his MFA program, he completed research on visual aesthetic analysis of photographs on photographic papers. Ankit's expertise spans across various genres, including social, fine art, experimental, and commercial photography. He has experimented with high-contrast black-and-white and infrared photography. His exceptional work has earned him recognition in prominent exhibitions such as the Bombay Art Society All India Annual Art Exhibition in 2021 and 2022, as well as the Maharashtra State Art Exhibition at the Jehangir Art Gallery in 2024, one of India's most renowned art galleries. Before joining Avantika University, Ankit fostered new talent as a Visiting Lecturer at his alma mater. He mentors students in communication design, and photography, and enriches their learning experience through guided photo walks in Mumbai City. In free time, Ankit enjoys immersing himself in films, music, travelling, and exploring new culinary experiences.
