Runner-up in Best out Waste competition of Ujjain Municipal Corporation

The students of Avantika University came up as runner-up in the ‘Best out of Waste’ competition held under ‘SWACHHATA HI SEWA’ drive of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ of Government of India. The Ujjain Municipal Corporation served at the student’s disposal the UMC workshop from which the students collected their self-chosen scrap to create masterpieces out of the same. After 3 days of blood, sweat and tears the students created a cosy lounge chair and an almirah out of a waste water tank, portable public urinals out of discarded pots, a sitar, rotating chairs, a swing, a wheel chair and a play ground by working on different discarded materials. The hands-on experience of creating value out of things that are otherwise conceived as a waste really was a great learning to the students and encouraged them to make effective use of the resources available to them.
