Cloud Computing and Engineering

Cloud computing is the on-request access to computer system facilities, specially data storage and computing power, without first-hand active control by the user. The term is commonly used to describe data centers accessible to many users on the Internet.

Cloud computing is powering digital metamorphosis at speed and scale. This is accomplished by providing a scalable , dependable and secure infrastructure as a service and a digital transformation platform to tackle data.

Cloud computing has changed the face of technology. The increasing acceptance of subscription models and next-gen technologies is paving the way for companies to become more productive. Cloud technologies present multiple benefits which incorporate higher productivity, agility and cost and operational efficiencies. The future generation should be apprehensive of the concepts and technologies that shape the Cloud. There is an urge to decode the opportunities that lie ahead, and companies should keep a track of the evolving market dynamics.

Mastery in the fundamentals of computer science is the key. The core skills which include efficiency in coding, knowledge of distributed systems, database, service-oriented architectures and security. An excellent grasp of natural language processing, AI, data sciences and machine learning also comes in handy. Engineering aspirants will need to understand the exceptions of distributed systems and concentrate on scalability, reliability, and security as they will work with enormous amounts of data and information. They must focus on soft skills as well.

Organisations see this an opportune time to use technologies that will shape their relationship with their customers. Hence, now the job opportunities span the entire technology domain, ranging from hardware to software platform application development, solutions and infrastructure aftercare.
